Joshua Thomasson

With a career that specializes in healthcare, education, and commercial design, Joshua Thomasson has built a wealth of experience in both public and private projects throughout North Carolina. A graduate of Virginia Tech, Joshua has been fortunate enough to travel the world and learn first-hand the impact architecture can have on a place, its people and culture, and those experiences he incorporates into his designs by challenging programs and creating usable civic space.

Outside of the office, he continues to be involved with community outreach programs by serving on the AIA Triangle Board of Directors and is President of Triangle Barkitecture - a pet architecture design competition benefiting local animal rescue groups.


Fun Facts:

  • Played saxophone in competitive marching band in HS, performing in NFL stadiums, Chicago’s Jingle Elf Parade, and the Macy’s After-Thanksgiving Day Parade in Universal Studios.

  • Takes his Halloween and Christmas decorating very seriously.

  • Is writing his first book based on Barkitecture and pet rescues.
